Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets
Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC)
The Foundation for the Preservation of Wildlife and Cultural Assets (FPWC) was established in 2002 with the aim of protecting Armenia’s biodiversity and natural heritage while promoting sustainable development in rural communities. The organization works at the intersection of wildlife conservation, environmental education, and community development.
FPWC implements a wide range of conservation and sustainability programs, including the protection of biodiversity, management of protected areas, wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, forest landscape restoration, environmental education initiatives, and ecotourism development. Its activities also include the establishment and management of the Caucasus Wildlife Refuge, as well as the implementation of programs aimed at mitigating human-wildlife conflict and supporting rural livelihoods.
The organization applies an integrated approach that combines technological solutions, habitat protection, community engagement, and educational programs. FPWC places emphasis on strengthening the relationship between people and nature through long-term conservation efforts, capacity building, and awareness-raising activities.
As a member organization of the Forest Alliance of Armenia, FPWC is engaged in collaborative efforts focused on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem protection, environmental education, and the promotion of sustainable development practices in Armenia.
